I’ve raced everything from super-sprint to Ironman, bagging a couple of trophies along the way. I’m a qualified Ironman coach, and I write about both the physical and mental sides of the sport.
I write about everything from basic swim technique to facing open water. I taught myself front crawl in Australia at the age of 29 and went on to complete a 5 km river swim in chilly England. I am a big believer in open water swimming promoting mental health and every time I see a lake, I jump in – especially if it’s snowing.
Running may be one word, but it is many things. Not only is it on- or off-road, mountain, fell and free; but it is community-building, health-giving and life-affirming, too. Kit reviews, case studies and top tips – I write from experience as a road runner, multiple- and ultra-marathoner, fell runner and orienteer.
From essential building blocks of diet to what happens inside the gut, I’m fascinated with all things biomedicine, and studied at the College of Naturopathic Medicine to learn all about it, and spent 18 months working with Pukka Tea learning the incredible benefits of ancient herbs. I welcome a brief on anything nutrition related.
